The EMISSARY uses two independent boost circuits that are voiced for different musical applications. In addition — as with all Walrus models: True-Bypass + handbuilt in the USA. Walrus EMISSARY Parallel Boost :
- Boost pedal with two parallel, independent circuits
- Perfect for placing lead sounds, fingerpicking or slide guitar in the overall mix
- Boost circuits voiced for different characters: ”Bright” and ”Mid”
- ”Bright” and ”Mid” boosts can be used individually or in parallel (mixed proportionally)
- Individual boost tones can be blended easily depending on instrument/application
- ”Bright”: clean JFET treble boost with lots of headroom
- ”Bright” boost makes, for example, neck pickup tones more lively or bridge pickup tones more present
- ”Mid”: focused mid boost at 800 Hz or 1 kHz
- ”Mid” boost positions lead and slide sounds perfectly in the overall mix
- Toggle switch selects the operating frequency for the ”Mid” boost
- ”Momentary Bypass” option: effect is only active while the footswitch is pressed
- True-Bypass design
- Power supply with isolated outputs recommended
