Taylor’s Academy Series makes the playing experience more accessible in every way, and combines the typical Taylor playability features in one affordable package. With the Academy 12e, our compact Grand Concert body is the perfect companion for finger picking or for those who have a lighter touch and long for the physical comfort of a guitar with a small body. The design specifications of the guitar are optimized for easy playing. Taylor’s patented, slim neck offers a number of hand-friendly details: a shorter 24-7 / 8-inch scale length, 1-11 / 16-inch saddle width, low action and light strings, which lead to a very pleasant playability. The light guitar body with layered Sapele back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top has an ergonomic armrest that increases the playing comfort for the picking arm. The guitar was also rated as particularly responsive to make the playing experience as relaxed as possible. The guitar comes with an integrated ES-B pickup that includes a built-in digital chromatic tuner and a sturdy, lightweight gig bag.
