Product information ”Meinl Cymbals B14EQH – 14″ Byzance Equilibrium Hihat”
Similar to the eponymous China, Matt Garstka’s Equilibrium hi-hat offers a unique balance of attack, tone, response and volume. Different zones of the cymbal have been lathed to produce an especially bright sound, while other areas were left unlathed to enhance attack and bite. The dry character of the Equilibrium hi-hat, on the other hand, results from sandblasting in other areas of the cymbal. Six holes at the edge of the bottom cymbal’s bell give the hi-hat added chick when played with the foot. This signature model from Matt Garstka offers a wide dynamic range and can be used in a variety of situations: from a washy sound, to a short, crisp attack, to a cutting chick. ”When I play an instrument, I want it to work in every situation. The Equilibrium hi-hat fulfils that requirement exactly, which is why I’ll be playing it for many years.” – Matt Garstka
