The Lark is Mily Balakirev’s arrangement for piano solo of the song of the same name by Mikhail Glinka, also known as ’A Farewell to St. Petersburg’. It retains much of the lyricism of the original but combines it with thepianistic brilliance which makes it into a solo work.
