The Victory VC35 The Copper reproduces these classic sounds with flying colors, even though the circuitry is based on conventional Class A/B technology. A quartet of good old EL84s provides 35 watts of output volume, which sounds quite modest, but don’t worry—this amp is really loud! A special feature is the preamp’s configuration: in addition to two standard 12AX7 tubes, a NOS EF84 serves as the driver tube. The amp’s sound is stunning: classic Class A chime with legendary sparkling highs, the characteristic midrange honk for the Brian May style board, and the rough, dynamic crunch of the small tube combos from Milton Keynes.
