The MEINL Percussion Artisan Edition Martinete Line stands for outstanding sound and an exceptional appearance. The 15mm-thick resonance body made from selected Tulip Poplar is equipped with an additional reinforcing ring at the sound port that further emphasises the bass frequencies. Inside the cajon are two sets of cajon strings that produce a delicate snare effect. The strings are fitted by hand by José ”Pepote” Hernández Diaz, the master cajon maker, and can be individually adjusted using the included tuning key. Rounded corners and thumb notches on the front plate and the body optimise playing comfort and tone. Cajons of the Martinete Line are made in Spain.
