The PBC146-MNC Starphonic snare drum has a thinner shell than the regular Starclassic Bubinga shells, resulting in a softer, warmer sound. The reduction in shell thickness tames Bubinga’s otherwise massive tone while retaining the full, rich sound and complete resonance. The grooved hoop emphasises the snappy attack and the warmth of Bubinga’s low end. An outer layer of matte natural Cordia wood completes the sonic picture visually as well.
