The Artist Concept Models are the result of close collaboration between Meinl Cymbals Artists and Meinl Cymbals Product Development. The goal was to create innovative and unique sounds that allow artists to experiment and make their way to the top of the drum world.
”Is it a shaker? A programmed, high-pitched hi-hat sample? A percussion crasher? No. It’s the Crasher Hats. I was looking for a sound with an extremely short, dry, clear but also high-pitched sound that was still dynamic and could be embedded in the overall sound like a shaker. I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so something unique and new had to be created.
Four individual cymbals combined to create a previously unknown sound. The result is incredible! A unique sound that blends ghost notes and other subdivisions beautifully while making a percussive statement. Perfect sound without unwanted overtones. The Crasher Hats have established themselves as an integral part of my setup and can be heard on all my current recordings. Definitely give them a try! ”
